Planned Power Outage - July 23rd-24th, 2014
Due to necessary electrical repairs at the data center, we need to shut down the servers on the evening of Wednesday, July 23rd. All the SETI projects and web sites will be unreachable for most of the time during this outage. Thanks for the heads-up on the impending outage. Since I keep several windows always open for the forums, the server status, my account, and Cricket graphs, I very seldom see the home page. So, I sometimes miss things that are posted there.

All the SETI data servers will be unreachable during these outages. The work should be complete by Thursday afternoon, and all services back on line shortly afterward.

If you can see this forum and post in it, we're back. The site is running slow, however, so it's probably getting a bit overwhelmed with computers trying to upload and download. Fortunately, with the colo, this should only last a couple of hours instead of several days.

yep doc figured as much specially with Charles Long reporting in if i have 21 gowd knows how many he's trying to report with his factory going . I set it for no new units at least i got them to report and still got heaps ,help it handle things a bit better if only recieveing data and not sending to everyone

The project was fully down for about 4 hours:

And it came up again at:

I think he was saying that the scheduling server was still online and available if it was able to say "down for maintenance." The news message suggested every server would be completely shut down, which would mean the messages tab should have been full of "could not connect to server" or "server not found."
