Two of my smaller machines normally have 1 or in another case 2 gpu based work units processes.

Something has happened today. The gpu's are "stuttering" and have started work on processing a dozen different work units. I updated the video drivers today. And I thought I had seti paused while I did it. So it shouldn't have really noticed. I guess I should have shut seti down.

Is this likely to mess up the quality of the data being processed/returned on the work units?

Thanks,
Tom

did you do a clean install? Sometimes after a video update there might be a problem with the Kernal, bin or wisdom files. I had an issue where my GPU were doing the same thing. It was something about removing the Bin and wisdom and allowing the computer to compile new ones. I would have to go back and look at my post but it was awhile back.

Edit

Ok find what I was looking for

Did you remember to delete the old binary files so new ones could be built with the new driver? Stop BOINC then in the project folder, setiathome.berkeley.edu, delete the old files ending in .bin, .bin_V7, and .wisdom.

so no kernal but the above

Do they run as 'High priority'?

If so BOINC just thinks they will not finish in time.
After a while of running one task BOINC see it progresses well and will finish in time.
So starts next task it think is in danger to miss the deadline.
