I am on a pretty tight budget but I might be able to squeeze out $50 for a new Seti GPU card. My buying from a family member of a radeon HD5670 for $50 fell through. So bangs for $50 bucks. What appears to be the best?

Assume full height, PCexp (I assume) and $50 plus s/h.

I will take either a Nvidian chip or a Radeon at this stage of the game.

Thanks,

Tom

That is a good question. Decide no. Offer and opinion, yes.

Thank you.

the 5670 like the 5590 had 400 compute core and uses very little power

you won't set records but this is enough card to begin the slow climb to the top.

especially if you can run 2 or more. these cards are mostly pci will run in a

machine with 550 watts or less power supply and three will slightly outperform or

at least be close to an hd6870 which can run 2 tflop's.

so if you can find someone to give you an older machine, even if you dumpster

dive or curb surf to find a couple, this can be a path to the

start of respectable numbers.

I have found the 5590 on ebay for about 25 to 30 dollars I Would offer something like that for the 5670.
