I'd welcome some help with this problem! I was a regular old SETI@Home user on my old Win95 machine and never had any problems with it. I've recently (belatedly!) upgraded to a new PC running Win 7 (version 6.1, build 7601:Service pack 1). I downloaded the BOINC client, it initially connected to the localhost machine, and seemed to be working correctly. However, after closing down the machine at the end of the day, when I subsequently came to restart it, I find that the BOINC client steadfastly refuses to connect to the localhost computer. All that I get (repeatedly!) is an error message stating: "The BOINC client has exited unexpectedly 3 times within the last 3 minutes. Would you like to restart it again?" Clicking on YES has no effect - I just wait 3 minutes and then get the same message... Do I need to do some clever configuration of my PC to allow BOINC to connect correctly? |

I'm running ver 7.7.42 (x86)- I'm assuming that this is the latest version as I only downloaded it just the other day. Getting the same error message upon starting up the PC today. |
