Why do you want to switch between applications every 6 seconds? |

Switching faster than less than two checkpoint intervals will result in no work being recorded - assuming that your checkpoint is the default 1 minute, then, if you really must go for rapid task swapping set the task swap time to at least 2.5 minutes, even then you will have reduced throughput due to the overheads to task swapping. Switching between tasks takes time. Depending on the project and the task, anywhere from a few seconds to several minutes. Rapid task switching will cost you a huge fraction of your computer time. Also, BOINC will only switch projects when either a project has a task that needs high priority to be guaranteed to complete on time, or when a project has dropped its normal priority by running for a while. Tasks within a project are run First In First Out, unless one needs higher priority. BOINC WIKI |

Well, if the previous answers weren't enough, you might try the Boinc forum since that's a function of Boinc and not the Seti application. |
