Is it an alternator?

Making me thirsty for a Guinness. I haven't had a real good one in an actual bar in awhile. There's an Irish pub near me that imports their Guinness kegs direct, and they say it's better than getting it wholesale. They also pour it at just the right temperature. It's very good, but at $5.50 a pint, it's a luxury I haven't had in awhile.

I know how he feels. I was a 3rd shifter for 7 years. I hated going to work on a Sunday night. Ive been a 2nd shifter most of my working life.

Well I need to hit the sack. Goodnight everyone. I will be back on the morrow.

That one beer from earlier this afternoon did me in; I couldn't hang with all you keggers today!

Ice water for me at work right now...

alcohol at work doesn't work im my book if their other people around. Stick to your ice water or soda's. Beer will be waiting home. :)

Exactly Grant, got me some good pomegranate juice for this afternoon but coffee first of course!

Weekend beer o'clock in 9 hours...

The next two items of my list would be a water pump, as my first car in 1963 only had a thermo-syphon radiator system. Then servo assisted brakes. Runners up would be modern synthetic engine oils you change every 10,000 miles, 50 years ago we had vegetable based oils that sludged up and required changing every 3000 miles. And electronic ignition systems, no more distributors and rotors with points bounce at high revs.

One modern innovation I don't like is engine management chips, you have no control over your engine settings at all, and they are devilishly expensive to replace when they go wrong, as they do. Also the new E fuels with Ethylene aren't compatible with older cars. My 1998 BMW runs like a pig on an E5 fuel.

But it has to be said that a modern family car today at 100mph is safer than one 20 years ago at 70mph, with better brakes, steering, tyres, and handling. But the price for all this is that servicing and repairs are now a garage job and not DIY any more.

But their is one you missed which is onuber one in my book
Cheers everybody
