One tends to get a bad headache from continually banging his/her head against the wall. You will be missed. Bob DeWoody My motto: Never do today what you can put off until tomorrow as it may not be required. This no longer applies in light of current events. |

I see no reason to continue trying to have dialogue with people that are simply not interested in any sensible or meaningful discussion. There are posters here who are so entrenched in their attitude that they will never consider an opposing view. There are those that simply use the Seti boards as a free soapbox for their own radical religious and other dogma, and others that have nothing to say at all, but just deliberately cause mischief and bait others for their own childish amusement. Oh I thought that was what is was there for to keep the radicals and nutters out of the Cafe. :-) I gave up with Politics last year. You'll feel less stressed!! |

I don't post in Politics either... I'll lurk and read with a good deal of shuddering and facepalm, but getting into a discussion there is a sure-fire way to get your blood pressure up and become generally annoyed at humanity. This is why politics and religion are the two big no-nos for most places and get confined to one walled-off compound here! (We could add a third: CreditNew! Heh... ) So, I suggest to just stick around in the outside of the asylum with the rest of us and you'll be fine. :^) Edit: Ha! While I was posting this the thread was moved to Politics. Nice irony! |

Is this an apt thought for a "swan song" amongst the 'politics'? Desiderata Go placidly amid the noise and haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence. As far as possible without surrender be on good terms with all persons. Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even the dull and the ignorant; they too have their story. Avoid loud and aggressive persons, they are vexations to the spirit. If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain and bitter; for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself. Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans. Keep interested in your own career, however humble; it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time. Exercise caution in your business affairs; for the world is full of trickery. But let this not blind you to what virtue there is; many persons strive for high ideals; and everywhere life is full of heroism. Be yourself. Especially, do not feign affection. Neither be cynical about love; for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment it is as perennial as the grass. Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth. Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings. Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness. Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself. You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should. Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be, and whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul. With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be cheerful. Strive to be happy. And you're never 'too old' for anything! ;-) Keep searchin', Martin ps: Is not "Hasta la vista, baby" a much more apt title for this thread?! :-P See new freedom: Mageia Linux Take a look for yourself: Linux Format The Future is what We all make IT (GPLv3) |

...how about... I come out with some OUTRAGEOUS statements to drag you back in? :) Is this just a thinly veiled ruse to hint that he's merely gone on holiday To France...? :-P Hasta La Vista!
