hammer

I have checked my word association book
and 'hammer like' is a word that could
be used for this tool. But it is not a
carpentry tool, but it was used to hit
something.
Hint #5:
Was a necessary tool before and during the
bronze age ......

a diging tool

Used in the same, not a shovel....
It has a name, and is used in a
certain occupation...
Hint #8:
What is the other tool that goes
with a shovel, and what was its
stone age name.....

It looks as if it is hafted because of the ring around it.

hafted, mason....

Yes hafted except when used by
small children. A mason would use
the same name as the first users
of this tool used.
Please reread hint #8.....

Ding, Ding, Ding!

We have a winner!
Way to go Luigi.
Maul or Bronze Age mining
tool from Alderley Edge.
You tell by the size of the tunnels in
the copper mines that it must have
been small kids who did the work.....
PM is on the way.
Good win, thanks to all for playing.
