Two children are dead in Campbellton, New Brunswick after they were strangled to death by an escaped python while on a sleepover in an apartment over Reptile Ocean, an exotic pet retailer. That is what gives snakes a bad name. Under no circumstances will I ever allow any of my snakes to escape. Prevention is much better than the cure. I have cats. Some of the snakes would be killed by the cats, and some of the snakes would kill the cats. I rely on my intellect, and experience to make certain that neither happens. These things are so easily preventible. Steve Warning, addicted to SETI crunching! Crunching as a member of GPU Users Group. GPUUG Website |

Steve, yes that case and many others give snakes that title. I know your a responsible snake owner. I still don't like snakes. It's the irresponsible, people that worry me :( People on a website look for kitties, bunnies, to feed the snakes. |

It was a case where an irresponsible pet shop owner let the snake out. then killed the boys. |

Two children are dead in Campbellton, New Brunswick after they were strangled to death by an escaped python while on a sleepover in an apartment over Reptile Ocean, an exotic pet retailer. Sadly it always is. I can't think of a single incident where human error hasn't had a part to play in incidences of these sort. And its invariably those innocent of making the error that pay the price. :( Then the animal concerned. Thank you for your kind reply! oh...and did we say we like humans too? Well we do :) |

You get plenty of pic's over here of croc's eating very large sharks (and other large animals plus humans), but it's very rare to get to see something making a meal of a croc. :-D The Australian Scrub Python is known to grow up to 8.5m (approx. 28') so a 3-4m (10-13') croc isn't really a problem for them (they really do need to eat more of them though ATM). Cheers. |

Not involving Australian fauna this time, but snakes should also be careful of what they want to eat. http://www.news.com.au/technology/science/centipede-almost-eats-its-way-out-of-viper/story-fnjwkt0b-1226888812691 Cheers. |
