want to possibility to get the same info in linux CLI, as i can get via boincmanager (in simple view) -> task properties there are a many interesting things - task "size" in GFLOPS, estimated time in hours, information about gpu usage such 0.2cpu and 1 ATI, and so on. there are a command ./boinccmd --get_simple_gui_info , but it not give that information, who give boincmgr via task properties. i think, it is not be very hard to do that? there also will be handy short list of tasks in "downloaded and waiting" status ( like "in queue: seti v7: 5 astropulse v6.03 (nvidia):2 " and number of executing tasks. and second: there are a good thing to get any constant progress indicator with some basic info as i mentioned early - like i run it in console, and ther ealways be that updating information, as i anytime can switch to that console, and see, what percent of task is done and so on...? |

I don't know (not implemented in old BOINC versions) what info you can get by: boinccmd.exe --get_tasks  - ALF - "Find out what you don't do well ..... then don't do it!" :)  |

as i say earlier, i want done and estimated time in hours, not seconds, and usage info like a "0.2CPU + 1 NVIDIA", who you can see in grahical info, but not in boinccmd --get_simple_gui_info in your pic, looks like you not have GPU / that task not use GPU. in another case, in 7.2.33 there be info about what fraction of CPU and GPU task consume, and it is very handy, because in sli info not at all any sign of task use GPU at all,or not. and swap and working set size also be better give in megabytes, not bytes. |

i want done and estimated time in hours, not seconds ... ...and swap and working set size also be better give in megabytes, not bytes. And what stops you to make this conversion in the script you mention to use? If you post (task part of) the output from: boinccmd --get_simple_gui_info boinccmd --get_tasks ... it will be more clear what you see than to describe this with own words. Obviously you have GUI on one computer with BOINC Manager running. And probably you have another computer without GUI (text mode only)? Why don't you use the ability of BOINC Manager to control BOINC running on other computer over LAN? Or use BoincTasks  - ALF - "Find out what you don't do well ..... then don't do it!" :)  |

my philosophy is - not need to be difficult simple things. client runned on CLI mode is simple thing, and there must be a possibility to get useful info in cli too. but there is another trend - programmers do all improvements of programm on gui mode ( boincmgr) and not touch to cli version, who, imho, not good at all. especially if take in consider, take a change in textmode, imho, is less difficult task. as so, i understand - if there no hammer, you advice me to pull the nails with microscope, but i think, it is far away from optimal solving... |
