All these people want is power for the sake of power, to feel justified in their existence, to stroke their own ego. They are cynical and they are exactly the kind of people that should never get a job as politician.

Well that's the 650 members of the UK parliament straight out then.

Eh, its pretty much every politician in the world right now.

That's the endemic problem with politics, it's full of politicians.

Perhaps. I think its more the problem with the way we select them and on what basis we select them.

Who says they are my favorites? I personally think they are squandering the potential of the EU to form an effective global superpower.

Meh, it isn't all bad. Besides, it remains to be seen whether the rest of the universe is doing any better.

Yep, there will be another coalition next year....

...either...

Con/UKIP.... or....

Lab/UKIP.....

...as this is what the country thinks of the Lib-Dems....

Absolutely luv it! Screaming Lord Sutch would be proud of him!

...as is the rest of the country where the Lib-dems are concerned......

"The Lib Dems are busy trumpeting the news that their membership has risen in the last year describing themselves as "the first governing party in recent history to have increased its membership while in power". But probe a little and that claim turns out to be as misleading as one of their by-election graphs."

UKIP leader Nigel Farage sparked widespread outrage with his controversial comments about the ‘worth ‘of women working in the City after they had taken career breaks to have children. But it’s his assertion that there was ’no discrimination against women at all’ in the City that arguably deserves greatest condemnation. Nigel Farage’s ill-judged comments in his widely reported speech this week were probably more about political posturing and positioning than anything else.

Farrage gets it wrong

Hi all! Hi Chris - thought you might like this from the guardian :) Got your meusli and sandals?

Nigel Farage's party needs to win over the young, women and ethnic minorities

...not tried insulting people to win them over before, he he he - is that where I'm going wrong?

All the best!

Today, I will mostly not do that.

And the Lib-dems are squeaky clean?

Nickerless's war of words

"In recent weeks a new asperity, even nastiness, has crept into Lib Dem criticism of their Tory partners... can government proceed when its two constituent parts are increasingly at war?"

Hi Sirius. It is difficult keeping clean whilst generating effluent from all orifices. It is a cross party issue. This makes it more difficult. (Not sure whether my signature is appropriate at this juncture, but I am going to sign anyway. :)) Have lovely day!

oh...and did we say we like humans too? Well we do :)

Yes. That's where the expression "cross party talks" comes from. It only sounds like they're talking because of top quality soundproofing :)

99% of Internet users wouldn't understand the difference between HTTP and HTTPS anyway.

Typical derogatory remark from a retiree protecting his beloved company. Got any hard evidence that 99% of net users are that ignorant?

BTW, what is https? :-)

I think I have just been insulted, and for a change not by Sirius.

I have just had a communication from the Dept of Work & Pensions, kindly informing me that my State pension will be increased by a minimal amount from 07/04/2014. So, no Barbados holiday this year then. However, upon perusing the enclosed explanatory booklet, BR2189 02/14, which bless their cotton socks, they kindly enclosed with the aforementioned information, I was enthralled to learn on page 16, the following very important information.

    AGE ADDITION

If you are 80 or over, you may be entitled to 25 pence a week age addition, paid with your State pension.

Oh Chris... I hate to burst your bubble... :)

...Ah but that is only for Englishmen. Jocks it's 5p a week (due to their impending independence) and Taffy's its 10p a week.
