Don't get either of those unfortunately :( will wait for it to come out on DVD :) would swim "the pond" but goodness knows where I'd wash ashore - probably right back where I started. Thanks for the posting though! :) |

'Cosmos,' the Fox remake of Carl Sagan's classic PBS series, 'Cosmos, A Personal Journey,' was seen by 8.5 million viewers across 10 channels on Sunday, according to early reports. |

Keeping in mind that the original "Cosmos" series originally aired quite a while back this new program seemed to me to stay close to Carl Sagan's script while adding more up to date content. I didn't expect any new ground breaking revelations but I think Tyson came across as a talented presenter and might stir some interest from the youth of today. I will be watching and recording the remaining episodes of the Cosmos revisited. Bob DeWoody My motto: Never do today what you can put off until tomorrow as it may not be required. They had "our cousins the trees" on tonight's episode. They also covered the five mass extinctions the Earth has seen; they make "global warming" look like child's play. |

In episode 2 I think Neal Tyson did a great job of explaining evolution even so the dummies could comprehend. The only problem is that those who reject evolution aren't thinking rationally. Movies of 20 years ago have better graphics. All Info has been disseminated by Other Programs for Last Few Decades and Years. Political Bent is annoying. NGT's voice is nice, but have hard time looking at him while talking. Like viewing Mr. Magoo. However, I am a Fan of Type of Cartoons being used. I'll continue to watch. Learn? You are right, they didn't spend a lot of their budget on the animation sequences. I miss spelled Neil Tyson's first name last time. He is a great presenter. I didn't see any political issues unless you were referring to his explanation of evolution and of what a scientific theory is. Creationists Demand Airtime On Neil deGrasse Tyson's 'Cosmos' To say what? I rather doubt they will get it. Bob DeWoody My motto: Never do today what you can put off until tomorrow as it may not be required. This no longer applies in light of current events. |

Creationists Demand Airtime On Neil deGrasse Tyson's 'Cosmos' Creationists, do not believe in evolution? Guess that might be a reason, Bob. Tonight sneak peak: Tonight’s all new episode of “Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey†hosted by Neil Degrasse Tyson deals with the phenomenon of Haley’s comet. Haley and Isaac Newton were contemporaries who influenced each others major findings. Here’s the description of the new episode titled “When Knowledge Conquered Fearâ€, from Fox. |

My point is that in a science oriented program why do creationists aka. intelligent design proponents think they have a right to state their position. Neither ID nor creationism are scientific concepts. Those people get ample TV time on religious channels and can preach their misguided beliefs there.
