I am a old tie user not to familiar wih the boinc thing. my proect list says
seti@home work done 0 avrg done 0 resources shared 100% communication deffered

now I am wondering how I set a task or actually start working. can someone help me out with this prob?

You've got some work running, so its just a case of waiting. There has been a problem with the servers for the last few days, and the message about communications being deferred is the result of this problem. Although the problem appears to have been resolved it can take a good few hours for communications to return to normal.
