Having produced neutrons in my youth I believe in their existence. They don't feel any dark energy or dark matter attraction. Tullio |

Dark matter doesn't interact with normal matter, that's one of the reasons it is so hard to trace. We do have the hypothetical particles, called WIMPS (weakly interacting massive particles) They interact through the weak nuclear force and gravitation; Because they do not interact through electromagnetism they cannot be seen directly, and because they do not interact through the strong nuclear force they do not interact strongly with atomic nuclei. Because of this they don't interact with normal particles, but do interact with other WIMPs. Also, this combination of properties gives WIMPs many of the properties of neutrinos, except for being far more massive and therefore slower. When WIMPs react with each other they emit gamma rays. Found an interesting read on the interactions between dark energy and dark matter: https://www.imprs-astro.mpg.de/sites/default/files/Baldi_Marco_2009_0.pdf rOZZ Music Pictures |

I don't really have any theory about dark matter. Most people say that it is the stuff that glues the universe together, else the stars would fly about all over the place. But all stars are part of galaxies, and at the centre of each Galaxy is believed to be a super massive black hole. It is the intense gravity exerted by that that which holds galaxies together. Our own one is Saggitarius A. According to the experts, the black holes at the center of galaxies don't have enough mass on their own to hold a galaxy together. Since I am not educated enough in these things I have grown to accept the analysis of the experts, but I am sure that before too long a greater understanding will reveal that even the current theories are incomplete and flawed. So far LHC has not found any neutralino or other WIMP. They must be more massive than the Higgs boson and may be found when LHC is upgraded to 14 TeV or must wait for the SuperLHC with a circumference of 100 km. I believe in experiments more than in theory. Tullio |

Forget dark matter! Scientists capture unprecedented images of DIM MATTER that connects galaxies throughout the universe The images were captured using the Cosmic Web Imager in California They are estimated to have origins from 2 billion years after the Big Bang Dim matter is part of the ‘cosmic web’- a network of smaller and larger filaments crisscrossing one another across the vastness of space Substance has, up until now, been a theory on how galaxies are connected The images could help astronomers better understand the structure of the cosmic web that flows through the universe Pic's in link http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-2618951/Forget-dark-matter-Scientists-capture-unprecedented-images-DIM-MATTER-connects-galaxies-universe.html |

Dim matter? Ok... not for a Friday night:) Thanx for the link Lynn:) [edit]Has something to do with the cosmic strings, filaments maybe? Anyway, will read it later on:) So, that's a different 'matter' then? Now you got me curious, gonna read it anyway:) [edit²] I knew it! The IGM... rOZZ Music Pictures |

If a hydrogen atom emits a photon as in the Lyman-alpha emission, would they be entangled? I put this question to prof. Roberto Battiston of Trento University and he answered yes. So, even if the atom felt inside the event horizon, maybe because it felt into a black hole, by making a measurement on the photon I would still get some information on the atom. This was considered a paradox by Einstein, Podolsky and Rosen in 1935 but experiments have confirmed this.See e.g Bernard D'Espagnat, "A la recherche du reel", Bordat, Paris, 1981. Tullio |

Forget dark matter! Scientists capture unprecedented images of DIM MATTER that connects galaxies throughout the universe Like I said, wait long enough and the current theories become outdated as more is discovered. Forget dark matter! Scientists capture unprecedented images of DIM MATTER that connects galaxies throughout the universe We will keep on building on the basic theories of science we grow more and more familiar with. It's always good to have 'dreamers', even in science. Within the 'dreaming' new discoveries can be made to complement the theories we already know of and are familiar with and which are refuted of course. rOZZ Music Pictures |

Apparently 51:47 Such is the nature of Belief. In the same style as of Nostradamus, you can Believe brief words to surely expand to any meaning you wish. For that has been written, in all surity, by a Great One! Yae! If you are a True Believer! For that writing has been written as foretold by Me! All easy enough when you expand from scant detail all grand in self aggrandisements. Apparently 51:47 Ok Martin, but you can't deny that they actually wrote those words down when people still believed the Earth was a flat disc! rOZZ Music Pictures |

Oh my... The Bible never said that... Thanx Chris:) A beautiful read. Translations can be susceptible to interpretation however... and what language you choose to use... in the case of the Quran - Arabic or Syriac. In the example of 72 virgins promised to martyrs, recruitment would probably drop significantly and for those already martyred there might be some disappointment when their raisins arrive. Christian texts may too have suffered some mistranslations between Greek and Latin. For those who believe, it probably doesn't matter too much if they feel the message remains essentially true. You asked about whether the Quoran mentions Dark matter Julie. I found this. Quran - dark matter and the seven heavens |

Oh my... The Bible never said that... Thanx Chris:) That means 'intelligence' has something to do with 'matter' hm, correct me if I'm wrong but that brings it all back to Humanities imo rOZZ Music Pictures |

Apparently 51:47 Hi Julie :) That IS intriguing - but don't forget the story of the three wise men who came from the east to visit the stable. These guys were, I suppose, the equivalent of modern astrologer's now - but what they were first and foremeost then were stargazers, astronomers even, who kept meticulous records of their observations. Just as there are people alive today who still believe the earth is flat, there may well have been others then who believed no such thing. Anyway - just speculating :) |

Apparently 51:47 Those are the stories we remember, as a child, at the christmas tree... but it's quite intriguing how the mind works actually... The mind is sometimes so far separated from reality and though harmonizes with it. [edit] Tell me if I'm exaggerating rOZZ Music Pictures |

Oh my... The Bible never said that... Thanx Chris:) :) I don't know - probably! I got so confused by the mental gymnastics to bring string theory and M theory into it all - I'm going to have to go and have a strong coffee before I read it again :) |
