He is nearly 2 years old now, and has a good future. The letter was co-ordinated by Westminster City Council which has previously warned replacing Asbos would lead to central London "becoming a playground for those who choose to come and aggressively beg" in the city. Oh dear, my heart bleeds for them. (Speaking as a northerner.) Life on earth is the global equivalent of not storing things in the fridge. |

From up my way: Wigan man wins pie-eating title The town of Wigan is celebrating more silverware after landing the coveted World Pie Eating Championship. The 'sporting capital of England' already holds the FA Cup and Challenge Cup after the success of their football and rugby league sides at Wembley earlier this year. And now they will have to make space in their cabinet for another trophy after a local man became the world's fastest pie-eater. Security officer Ian Coulton scoffed his pie in just over a minute at Harry's Bar in Wigan town centre to beat 18 other hopefuls, who had travelled from as far afield as Australia to compete for the Bradley Piggins Trophy. Coulton told Wigan Today: "I was surprised to win. I thought I had a good chance but didn't think I was the favourite. "I've already got a signed Lancashire cricket bat at home on the mantelpiece so this will look excellent alongside it. "I told me my dad David and he said it's not going to do much for my reputation! But I've already had calls from a couple of friends congratulating me on my win." Life on earth is the global equivalent of not storing things in the fridge. |
