Firstly will bonic run on solaris 8?
I am having trouble getting past the point where I actually execute the program.
I type ./bonic_4.13_sparc-sun-solaris2.7 and then it says "fatal: libstdc++.so.3: open failed: no such file or directory Killed"

I know that file is there. Any thoughts?
Also is there a GUI for unix yet?

Are you sure the file is there? I had to install it after the fact in both Solaris 8 and 9. Do a search for what you seek, that is how I found the answer. I don't think the *nix GUI is ready. I think this thread is what helped me get it going.

Followed what the other thread said to do but the unix didn't recognize the command LD_LIBRARY_PATH or LD_LIBRARYPATH
still no luck

If you are using sh, ksh, or bash use the following

LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/lib:/usr/local/lib
export LB_LIBRARY_PATH

If you are using the c-shell use

setenv LD_LIBRARY_PATH /usr/lib:/usr/local/lib

This does assume that libstdc++.so.3 does exist in /usr/local/lib If you have a higher version like I do it does work by linking the higher version to libstdc++.so.3

I'd rather speak my mind because it hurts too much to bite my tongue.
