Hello all: One of the things I love about SETI@home, despite contributing my computer power, is the graphics. But the button "Show Graphics" is greyed out. I went to this page (http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/sah_graphics.php) and followed the directions. I pressed "update" in the projects tab, and even restarted BOINC, but the "Show Graphics" is still greyed out. Have I maybe set something wrong? Can someone guide me through this? In case it matters, my graphics card is NVIDIA GeForce 9400 GT. Any help would be very much appreciated! Kind Regards, Daniel aka siouxdax |

You have one task and it runs on your videocard's GPU. The GPU applications come without the graphics application, this was done as at the time it was expected that running both intricate calculations on the GPU and trying to show OpenGL graphics --which essentially use the same part of the GPU-- was too much and would incur more errors. So it was decided not to add a graphics app to the GPU applications (cuda, cuda23, cuda_fermi, ati_opencl_100 and nvidia_opencl_100). The applications that run on the CPU do have the graphics app and can show the task's graphics. You don't have any work for your CPU, however, so you can't. |

Just out of curiosity, how did you know I don't have any work for my CPU? Does that show on my profile here? Well I hope it starts working soon, I miss staring at the graphic, understanding little, but enjoying it nonetheless. :) Kind Regards, Daniel aka siouxdax |

When I click on your name, http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/show_user.php?userid=8329702 opens. There it says Computers with a View link, so I click that link, then I click Tasks and all tasks for that host will show. You now have one CPU and one GPU task. When the CPU task is all downloaded and running you should be able to click the running task and then Show graphics. this'll be on the setiathome_6.03 task only. |

If you click on the "Account" tab on the bar near the top of this page you will be take to your own account page, you may have to log in using the email address and password you used to create your account. You will be able to see details for your account that we cannot, if you like compare the information you can see for your account with that which you can see for mine. Well the graphics are working and looking great. I'm tweaking the visual setting so I can get it to the "cool level" that I'm trying to achieve. Thank you so much for all of your help! Kind Regards, Daniel aka siouxdax |
