Under View computers, I have several computers that have different descriptions but are actually the same computer. We need a way to say that although they look like different computers they are actually the same and to merge them.

Ofter clicking on merge in your account you get a selction what computers could be merged.

I have the same problem Jim. I changed the operating system from Mandrake to Fedora Core 2 and now it won't let me merge them.

There IS a way, it was discussed quite a while back, maybe do a search on merging computers. You have to rename some things and then rename them back but it can be done.
