I love running the SETI processing software. Not just because it helps advanced scientific inquiry into our known universe, but because it maxes out every core on my CPU and GPU. That is amazingly efficient software. ;p

Do you have the GPU fan locked on it's highest setting? ____________ ****** "Ask not, what your kitty can do for you. Ask what you can do for your kitty." As it is kitten, so shall it be done.

That is amazingly efficient software. ;p The GTX480's are know to run around 80c or 85c. 55c on a 9600 is a very good temp. ____________

However, after 3 days solid of running the SETI 'app'. My GPU is reaching temperatures of 55c. Mine usually run at 70°c ____________ Grant Darwin NT.

Your host details say your machine has a NVIDIA GeForce 9600 GSO 512, the specs for that card as posted on NVIDIA's site say it has a Maximum GPU Temperature of 105c. So 55c is well within the thermal limits of the card, you shouldn't worry about it.

My 570 hit 248C earlier today which oddly coincided with a glitch in the monitoring software.

I am indeed running a 9600. Thank you very much for easing my mind. I always aim to keep my CPU and GPU at 40c or under. Since I never let it go beyond this threshold I did not know if this was acceptable. Thanks for the info guys.

yea i should probably give my gtx 8800 a break before it explodes.. not doing an amazing amount of crunching anyways.

yea i should probably give my gtx 8800 a break before it explodes.. not doing an amazing amount of crunching anyways. They show having 993 MB as reported by BOINC 7.0.25, that's plenty for 2 tasks at a time. Being Fermi cards, they ought to respond well. Joe

yea i should probably give my gtx 8800 a break before it explodes.. not doing an amazing amount of crunching anyways. My 430 can handle 2 WUs with no issues, and it gives a slightly advantage over crunching just 1... So, not sure if it's worth but certainly they can. ____________
