When I login to my profile, the BOINC folder says "access denied."

A little background: my Windows XP SP2 machine has 3 profiles:
- one administrator profile (chiefly used for installing, maintenance, etc)
- one non-admin profile for myself
- one non-admin profile for my wife

I've installed BOINC in the administrator profile, and verified it works just fine, there. I went to the settings and even checked the box to allow other users of this computer to use the program.

When I login to my normal profile, and try to load BOINC from the start-menu shortcut ... nothing happens. When I go to C -> Program Files -> BOINC, a message says "Access is denied".

Why would this happen? When I install other programs, I can access them from any profile just fine. What's different about BOINC?

I wouldn't think I should install it in each user profile ... wouldn't that cause problems?

Please advise.

Login as Administrator. Please try by checking the properties of the folder. Share locally. do not check that box. It asks that you as administrator to drag and drop the folder into share document folder. If you shared it on the network it doesn't make it shared locally. also make permissions for the users same rights as the administrator Hope this helps.

During the install there is a check box to install for all users? This is important as the security of the directory is set differently in the two cases.

Not all is lost though. Add the relevant accounts to either boinc_admins for control or boinc_users for monitoring.
