This came to me whilst of all things, mowing the lawn last weekend.
You know the song it is based on, I am sure.
Could be the next Broadway show........
(with the kitties singing the chorus lines)

Some of the lyrics might be a bit hard to work into kitty mode, but I might give it a go when inspiration comes to me....LOL.

There were 14 of these gems written by the honorous W.S. Gilbert and Arthur Sullivan between the years of 1871 and 1896.
My Uncle Donald, who was a trouper back in his years, introduced me to them back in 1965 or so. Along with Puccini.....and Mozart.
Anyway......
It seems that their intent originally, was to lampoon Italian opera....my opinion.
And they did so very grandly.
Writing in the King's English, rather than traditional operatic languages, they tried to attach to a broader audience.
And, at least in my instance, they succeeded.
In doing so, they also managed to manage and mangle the King's English. Most wonderfully. Pinafore is the one gem that managed to make it on screen.
If you have the chance, do see some of the others.
'Iolanthe' is seldom done these days. And perhaps not one of their best.
And few ever heard of Ruddigore....
Pirates made it into a major motion pic.....
I'd love to see more given the same treatment, although some consider it crude.
Pishaw.....let the masses see some art.
