Ladies and Gentlemen,

I have just now spoken to Sheila, John's wife at their home, and with Sheila's permission I have to sadly tell you that John has been seriously ill in hospital in intensive care since last Friday. Apparently he has had renal failure and is on dialysis.

She was grateful for my phone call, so that I could let people know what has happened. I knew something was wrong as he hadn't posted for a few days, I just wish I had rung earlier.

I will of course keep you all posted, and I will go up and see him as soon as he is able to receive visitors.

We all send our very best wishes to you and your family John, and our prayers and thoughts are with you and yours at this time.

Thanks Nick & Vic, Sheila has my phone number and will keep me in touch with what is happening.

Chris, thank you for letting us know. Please pass my wish for his recover and let him and his wife know that I will keep him in my prayers. Sending light and love.

Jeebers,that's sad news. I have also spoken to Sheila 5 mins ago & was informed that John had sat down in his chair & his shoulder shattered.

He spent 7 hours in theatre, which was successful, but afterwards, they could not wake him & that's when renal failure was detected.

According to the hospital, John is fine but they had to put him back on dialysis this morning.

His family will be going to visit tomorrow, so Andrea & I are hoping that John improves.

ATM, Sheila is bearing up well, has family members staying with her until the 5th.

When you speak to his wife the next time please ask her to convey "Get Well Wishes" from this grumpy old Swede.

I'll be "praying" in my own way, for his speedy recovery.
