I Have not looked into this in the last month or more. Has the problem working with 10.2.8 been fixed? or do you still have to do the crazy workarounds? I will check back and see if I will rejoin the seti project. I still am doing some work with the classic seti but I will not upgrade until it dead easy to the boinc seti. I am a computer user not programer!

To the best of my knowledge, no one has been able to compile a stable client to work on 10.2.8. The Jaguar clients that have been compiled have been "unpredictable" working for some and not for others. Hopefully the BOINC gurus will have time to work on it one of these days. In the meantime 10.3.x is still required.

I also have been unable to make any version of 10.2 to run BOINC. No matter which "workaround" I try. Sad, isn't it?

Dunno why, but This is here because I had to hit the "POST" button twice to get things to respond. Sorry.

I do have it running on my stpedads G4 box and 10.28. I am using 4.13 client version and 3.10 application version. When the results come back it is showing 0 cpu time and claiming 0 credits. The results must be coming back and getting validated ok because, I am being granted credits.

The weird thing is I thought that boinc was supposed to update the app with the newest version. I have had this update happen on my moms pc. It has not updated the app on his G4 though. I would know as I tried running with the 4.02 app and it failed on 10.2.8.

You can see the results on this page:

This is total BUNK! I have been a loyal supporter for a LONG LONG time. I have many years worth of CPU time. But to find out after weeks of trying to get this client crud to work on my older 10.2.8 machine that it won't is absolutely lousy. PUT IT UP FRONT IN YOUR LITERATURE!

I am VERY VERY VERY disappointed. I'm going back to the classic app so long as it works. And when it doesn't I may, like so many others, swap to another project which doesn't overlook it's loyal users.
