Well, as you run Seti you will be given Credits for each chunk of data that you Crunch, and if you are a member of a team these credits are allocated to the team as well as to yourself - so the team prospers and you will gain a warm fuzzy feeling that your helping a team as well as searching for ET. The team can also offer you support and technical assistance and help. So why not put your points to a good cause.
