AMD 2500+ @ 2.083 ghz with stock AMD cpu cooler and 2 case fans

CPU temp is 43.0°C with room temp of 19°C
MB temp is 36.1°C
PS temp is 38.5°C

In the summer the cpu was 47-49°C
98SE XP2500+ @ 2.1 GHz Boinc v5.8.8

And God said"Let there be light."But then the program crashed because he was trying to access the 'light' property of a NULL universe pointer.

P4 3.00 Ghz HT average 58C But I added a heat pipe Sink plus fan and dropped that to 45C.
P4 2.66 Ghz average is 41C with passive heat pipe.
Average room temp is 25C
Both are flat out 100% active with BOINC

System with no fans, using partly passive watercooling:
P4 2.4GHz @ 2.4Ghz - MB temp: 30°C, CPU: 30°C (idle: 26°C)
P4 2.4GHz @ 3.02Ghz - MB temp: 40°C, CPU: 36-40°C (idle: 26°C)

Depends very much on room temperature due to the partly passive watercooling.

Hi, I'm using Arctic Silent Copper TC+, but it would run under 60°C if it wouldn't be overclocked ;-).

I am going to upgrade a computer to an OEM 478 pin 3.4g prescott which will run hot. Can someone suggest s good heatsink/fan that will cool it?

AMD Barton 2500+ @ 2700-2800+ (1.83 -> 2.0GHz, prime:d etc. ;)) running constantly at between 50-55°C, depending on room temp, with a bigger than standard heatsink with a big 18dB fan ...

You could use WebTemp (which uses SpeedFan as data source) to display your system temperatures:

It supports SETI classic as well as BOINC.

my 2.6ghz intel HT gets above 80+ degrees recently.. so hot that the northbridge fan shuts down. never had i thought it possible that a 100% load over time could do this, but alas i discontinue boinc so that my pc may live to see another day :(

-edit boinc software should have integrated load limitation properties!.

Ugh

I have P4 with HT, 2.8GHz. Currenty I am only using one side from the HT for boinc and now the temp is around 65C - 67C. At firts I did use both HT parts for boinc but I was little worried about the temp because it was going too hot, ower +80C.

That does sound a little high to me. My P4 3.2 runs at 55C fully loaded. Maybe you could try adding some case fans?

==========

You need to get some better cooling for your system. Either more fans added or better & faster spinning fans put in for better air circulation in the case...That is way to hot to be running your system IMO.

I'm running 7 HT Computers in HT Mode and none of them get above 50c when running the WU's...But they all have an aftermarket CPU Fan & Cooler and more fans installed in the Cases ... Any time I start to see Temps over 55c in a system I figure it's time for some cooling modifications to bring the temps down some ...

Also whens the last time you blew the dust and dirt out of the inside of the case, especially off the CPU & Video Card Fan's...??? You would be surprised how much you can lower your temps by keeping the insides of your case and your CPU Cooler clean and free of dust that accumulates over time ...

One test would be to remove the cover and monitor the cpu temp. It's also a good idea to clean the cpu heatsink and case vents from time to time, as electronics are a "dust magnet".

Personally I wouldn't even be running a system that ran at at 65C-67C and as high as 80C as he stated, I would be finding out why the heck it was running that hot ...
