CPU is P4 2.4GHz with HT, running at 2.88GHz.
Running S@H/Boinc:
temperature measured with Asusprobe v2.22.06 is 38C with ambient temperature of 20C, temp measured with SiSoftSandra Pro v2004.10.9.113 is 37.5C.

What kind of programs do you use for temp. reading ?

On the CPU I'm using Zalman CNPS7000-Cu (please read the compatibility sheet) running at 2.000rpm.

In front of the HD I have a Papst 8412NGL fan 80mm (12 dB) (200kb file) and as outlet fan a Zalman ZM-F1 fan running in noiseless mode.

Total noice level in the range of 25dB.

AMD specs:

XP2200+ and higher - Max. die temp. 85C deg. max

It can run forever at 60C and not hiccup.

And that's not too hot.

Athlon 64 3200 46c with fan at a guiet level

The following run boinc 24/7

Athlon 3000 45-55c depending on room temprature
athlon 3000 43-50c as above
p4 2.4 oc to 3gig 44c
athlon 1 gig 46-47c - temprature always stays around that under load
athlon 2200 48-52

All the above are setup for low noise so tempratures could be lower. They are all also in the same room so can get warm in the summer (saves on heating in the winter) and finally some are not in cases just setup on shelfs.

Most of them are run as diskless linux clients so no hdd and cheap graphics cards so again lowering heat, just motherboard graphics card and network.

PowerBook 3,5 — 867MHz — 768MB — 40GB — OS X.3.6 (7R28)

The temp sensor wasn't included in the ppc7450 variant I have, but the fans run constantly and the bottom of the 'book is a good hot-plate should you ever need one. It won't fry eggs, but it'll keep your coffee warm. My guestimate is anywhere between 45°C to 55°C, leaning towards the higher end.
