When I try to install Boinc it keeps asking for a CD. I have no Boinc cd and would like to continue with the seti installation, but cannot. The installation never completes.

Need help.

Thanks,

George

Hi, I've recently changed from Windows XP to Windows 7 (64-bit) and now I can't run SETI through BOINC. I am able to get the account manager to add the project but it doesn't load my history or download any files for analysis. Any idea how I can solve the problem?

I also use BOINC for Climate Prediction and World Community Grid and for these projects I receive an error when I try to add them using the account manager. Is there another way I can add these projects or solve the account manager problem?

Any help is appreciated!
Greg

Which "account manager" do you use? (e.g. BAM!)

Did you Attach from BOINC Manager to "account manager" (e.g. BAM!)?
(and NOT to SETI project directly which in your case is not the proper action (I think))

Sorry, should have said that I use the BOINC manager. For some reason it's not letting me join the World Community Grid and Climate Prediction projects at all. And as mentioned I can join SETI@home but there's no record of my previous results and it doesn't download any new work. Works fine with Rosetta@home and Primegrid projects. I have no idea why, but the only difference is my migration to Win7 64. Any advice?

Scherzbold!

You have probably created a new account when attaching to SETI, because your host operating system is still listed as XP (as of 5 Oct 2011 | 17:21:07 UTC).

Detach from SETI and reattach as current user with the correct email address.

I attached as an existing user, and also tried detaching and reattaching. No dice. The SETI project entry in BOINC manager does not show my username and under status it says "scheduler request pending" the whole time and it does not update. I checked SETI server status and it seems no issues there. Any idea what the problem is? I can attach from mac and other pc (running XP) without trouble.

Are the mac and the other PC on the same network?

If not, can you ping the SETI scheduler (208.68.240.20) from the W7 host?

If not, read the HE connection problems thread and the ~ Temporary Fix for HE connection problems ~ thread on the Number crunching forum.
