After downloading BOINC latest version software, I get the above error during the ealry stages of the installation. I cannot get past this error and my BOINC software does not work any longer. Please can you assist me as I was in the middle of an ASTROpulse module.

Try Windows Installer Error 1706: Setup cannot find the required files / 1714: older version cannot be removed / BOINC.msi cannot be found / The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable at the BOINC FAQ Service.

There is a simpler fix that usually works:

1) Download the exact version that you already have installed from http://boinc.ssl.berkeley.edu/dl
2) Run this installer, and either do an install, or an uninstall. Which will be offered depends on the version.
3) Download and install the new version.
