I have tried quite a few times to locate a listing of BOINC error codes, to no avail. Does anyone have, or know where to get, a list of at least the 10-20 most common error codes? I am certain that many on here would like to have such a list. Thanks in advance! |

There's a reasonably comprehensive list maintained by the BOINC FAQ Service. |

Thanks Richard, The errors I see occasionally are '1' and '-12' and I still don't know what the represent. Someone said that such errors are mostly caused by bad data and not by my machine. My RAC has recently gone from ~6,200 to ~12,000 so I see a few more errors, but not enough to be of concern. Just curious... |

It seems you're looking for a list of error code for the SETI science app, which is separate from BOINC error codes. |

Have the guys at Lunatics published a list of error/exit codes as well? I guess the source from Berkeley would need to have notes as to what the error/exit codes actually meant. so is it a problem at my end or corrupt work unit? It is not a corrupt work unit. Both the -5 exit error and the errno=2 indicate that the file couldn't be opened. Either the file was totally missing, the translation from work_unit.sah to the actual WU name failed, or something else interfered with opening the file. A corrupted work unit could produce one of a few errors, but not that one. It is almost certain there's a problem at your end, time to do any deferred maintenance and hope that's enough. Joe |
