On my first trip to DC, I barely made it past the (Old) Space and Science Museum. I could have spent the entire day just looking at and comparing the Soyuz and Gemini (?) spacecraft, hanging overhead, side-by-side. That was in the 70's. 2 years ago I was guiding some student at the Air space museum in Washington DC and with surprising jackpot oddity found out that Buz Aldrin along with two other astronauts signing their books event. I got Buz Aldrin book with his signature but could not shake hands with him because I came at the end of the event. Mandtugai! ID: 1108886 · |

Yes timing is everything. I was looking at the scene maybe for 3-4 minutes that people actually shaking hands with them getting their signatures some lucky ones managed to have their pictures taken from the crowds. I took maybe 10 photos of the event. Mandtugai! ID: 1108977 · |

Sometime not having a bath for a long time really works for your own physiology development. Well according to this ISS example Nasa physicians are seemingly on this side too. ;) In late 80s or early 90s actually MIR station had some kind of shower system that I very briefly saw from russian tv, but seemingly soon after they uninstalled that. Well china has 3 trillion dollars to play with they are almost launching their first space station:  But my guess is its main mechanical structure is all russian and most electronics and computers are all american.
