For not liking it? Nope. Does it frighten you? Does it bother you if other people like spinach? Do you want spinach or any temptation of spinach to be removed from the world? That.. could make you spinachphobic.

And if so you might want to ask yourself, why? Is it because secretly if it was prepared just so you might find it delicious, and you just can not bear the thought of others finding out you might like spinach?

The answer is in you.

I guess, the secret is in the combination of the ingredients.
I would try it with some mashed potatoes.
With fried onions it gets very tasty.

Spinach goes best with cod and mashed potatoes. It's also very tasty if you put a bit of cream in the spinach!

With potatoes is good and with garam massalla, yogurt, finely chopped onion, curry powder, chilli powder, cayenne chilli, crushed garlic, grated root ginger, vegetable oil, chopped and whole coriander leaves and of course finely chopped spinach leaves (Saag Aloo).

I wish I could experience my mom's cooking again. Especially her poor man's spaghetti.

OTOH, she really wasn't a very good cook. But at least she never made me eat spinach.

I can understand the canned stuff, but fresh picked, steamed with butter and a splash of lemon juice should be fine. The canned stuff is over cooked and has a super sized dose of vinegar that every school kid I grew up with hated.

Costco has fresh baby spinach at a modest price. Watch the date on the package though. Just eat it raw in a salad with crumbled blue cheese, thinly sliced steak, onions, peppers and maybe avocado and tomatoes. Had that last night -very tasty and probably quite healthy.

It also makes good dip and I like it steamed with just a little salt. If you like spinach then grow some beet greens, collards and kale. Also plant swiss chard. I used to have a 400 square foot fall garden where I planted these varieties. I was the only one in the family that liked them though so I had a house and freezer full of the stuff. Now we just buy the spinach at Sam's or Costco.

I frackin' HATE spinach!!! It's one of the worst frickin' things in the universe, second only to broccoli (the one thing Robin Williams and George H.W. Bush could agree on).

The beautiful thing is, they don't have to be great cooks. It just has to be their cooking.

My mom tried getting me to eat spinach and broccoli. Never could stand the taste of either one. Even with cheese.

Broccoli is something else that can be ruined with little effort. If not fresh it gets a bad taste to it. If over cooked the same can happen. If you eat it fresh without cooking, use a ranch dressing dip. If you steam it, pull it as soon as it is tender and serve with a cheese sauce. I couldn't stand the taste of broccoli when I was young but with this knowledge I now like it.

It's like carrots. Why would anyone cook them, when they are just fine cold and crunchy?
