New admins and new rules II....... You can say what you want as long as you don't quote Admin with something they hope will go away. Then you have to face the wrath of "the one". me@rescam.org |

The mod rotation rule was implemented just long enough to rotate out a few specific mods and then was immediately (unofficially) recanted. I don't think it was ever meant to be a permanent rule. In my opinion it had EVERYTHING to do with a psychopathic handbag loving British woman, campus police and Interpol. |

New admins and new rules II....... Neoamsterdam? You can get his attention by saying his name three times in front of a mirror on Halloween. Just make sure you have a fresh pot of coffee brewing. |

Sounds plausible. Besides, I'm still waiting for my lawsuit. Hey, I just came to think of, now I'm flying to Italy and of course the Italian police, or rather Il Carabinieri, will be aware of my status as wanted by Interpol, will that ruin my special trip? The Italian won't be happy if I'm sent to jail before the extradition to Scotland Yard? Geeze, I'm happy I didn't fly to London last year! You don't have anything to worry about Fuzzy. I'm sure it didn't take them long to see who was harassing whom. |

Paws up from the kitties.......all I ever asked for was a bit of understanding. And you have given me that. Meow. Funny how that works, eh? "Freedom is just Chaos, with better lighting." i like the current mkods. why change what is working good? After a few months the best of mods can become bitter and resentful towards anyone who has complained about bad decisions. And trust me, no matter how hard you try to be fair and unbiased, people will still complain about your decisions. And mods like everyone else are not infallible..They make mistakes and will almost always get a complaint about it. They even get complaints when they've made good decisions. With all that in mind, the rules can be enforced to the extreme as a way of punishment to certain people they perceive as a persistent problem. Or just someone that has insulted them over what they thought was a bad decision. As I'm writing this I'm looking at the list of rules on the left. I could easily go through the forums right now and delete possibly hundreds of posts if I take an extreme view of the rules and take them literally word for word. Just to take one rule as an example; "No abusive comments involving religion"... Any comment that refutes religion could in and extreme view be taken as an abusive comment and hidden as such. I could easily delete a couple hundred comments from the religious threads based on that extreme interpretation of just ONE rule. "Why not change what is working good." That just like everything I wrote is an opinion. If you've ever been on the sharp end of a mods sword and had seemingly innocent posts hidden, your opinion would change. Like I said in the previews thread about this subject, things seem to be getting better so I'm happy with it at the moment. But I still think mods should be rotated in/out every few months. Six months seems to be a good point where mods stop taking modship as a job and start taking things too personal. |

Things are working well........... If I read my email from Admin correctly today I'm not allowed to email the modlist anymore. While I cannot see all the flurry of email that I'm sure was going on I will make an educated guess this stems from the hypersensitivity of "the one". So I conclude that rule of "always email us" no longer applies to me. I am a free man. The rest of you put on your black and white striped uniforms and report for road crew duty. me@rescam.org |

Things are working well........... Reporting as directed.....Meow. Meow....SIR. 'The One' was quite civil to me the one time we had an occasion to have discourse. No problems there. He stated his case, and I stated mine. In the end, we disagreed, but I can handle that, as long as the comms are open and honest. And he gave me that. "Freedom is just Chaos, with better lighting." I tried TAA's advice and privately emailed Admin one last time about the public funding issue. The response I got was that email addr is for forum issues only and I had to email others. Well that's (disappointing) news to me. I've always been able to email that addr about non-forum stuff before. I guess it's a new untold rule. Technically it was a forum issue since I asked twice in the forums, and messaged the modlist, and never got a response. Long live the run around and the status quo. me@rescam.org |

There are channels for The California Public Records Act and you need to use them. Seti is likely exempted from this act. Seti also does not get US funding so it isn't subject to The Freedom of Information Act. Now BOINC and Seti Beta do get federal funds and therefore would be subject to The Freedom of Information Act, but I don't think they are subject to The California Public Records Act, but that is my reading of it. If you are serious Misfit, file a California Public Records Act request with the Regents of the University of California and a Freedom of Information Act with the National Science Foundation. You can also request copies of any 501(c)3's tax return from the Internal Revenue Service, but some 3rd parties have collected them and have them available online. |

Even I know when to stop beating a dead horse. I don't disagree with Misfit entirely, but since he won't accept PMs from me any longer, I can't respond to him directly. Just stop with this all........ The issue will always exist, as long as divergent minds collect in one place. They can't be all things to all people......I am surprised the project handles things as well as they do and tolerate us who try to impose their views on the whole thing. I am not a saint. None of you are either...... Tolerance. "Freedom is just Chaos, with better lighting." Alan Dean Foster |
