All the recent revelations, the collapse of trust, the lack of faith in the system spell what for the UK in the future? Calls not for just a few changes but rather "upheaval" may be frightening but probably plot the only acceptable route through for the public now. Our democracy has been under threat for some years now - but the public have wised up I think and want to take back some influence and give back to Parliament some authority to represent our interests with Government, to challenge Government and to hold them to account for us. A written constitution is being talked about quite openly. The relationship with the EU is to be scrutinised from top to bottom. Where do you think this will go? |

Welcome to American style politics. With any luck you won't end up with a 2 party system In a rich man's house there is no place to spit but his face. Diogenes Of Sinope |

Unless the changes come about PDQ, it will be the "Union of Socialist Britain" & I think that'll be one USB that won't fit in my computer!!! |

England is part of Great Britain, GB is is part of the UK. The UK is a nation state in its own right. The UK is a member of the EU - albeit reluctantly in most peoples' minds. The EU is not a country nor a nation nor a state. Its trying hard to be one, though, so it can call the shots around the world and compete with the USA. Most people in the UK do not want this to happen. But hey we are talking national politics here not supra national wannabe stuff. The UK is facing a bigger challenge to its constitutional arrangements than at any time since the civil war and even Runneymeade. How will all this end? What will we look like? |

Unfortunately I don't hold much hope for any real widespread change in British politics. I do agree that people are fed up but I dont see anyone doing anything about it. Personally I would like to see as much power as possible passed down from government to the people. www.artpruple.co.uk |

With our government and political parties at the moment we have no hope whatsoever |
