This is a test.... This is only a test....

EDIT: There we go, short, sweet and to the point. I will just have to get used to the shades of gray. Now. Should I edit all my posts to get rid of all the colorful graphics? Nah! Interest in those threads will be lost after time, with new ones to take their place.

I left a message in 'Does 4.12 work with CPDN?' thred with a sig like mine that shows all projects. Guess you missed it.

Janus,
From time to time I like to go thru my old posts and edit out my sig to cut down on the bandwidth from where the various segments come from. Right now I cant see any of the html code of the sig to edit it out. I know there were issues regarding the copying of the html code in replies. Would it be possible to at least show the code when I go into "your account/account statistics/message board posts" so I could edit them out manually?

Edit: Also since the avatars are set 100x100 could the size limit of the avatar column be limited to help cut down the creation of that darn horizontal scroll bar by those who have sentences for user names?

Signatures are no longer part of the post but part of your user preferences. In the future you edit your signature for all posts by editing it in your prefs.
Still you can go back before the 10th of October and edit those posts to no longer include your signature if you want to...

Alternatively you could use a stats provider that doesn't have any bandwidth problems =)

Hey Steve, that's the stat-graphic I wanted and couldn't figure out how to get. The 'shades of gray' one I have now, I really don't like. Someone here, in helping me to rid the forums of my 4 colorful graphics, took it upon himself to create it for me. I've seen that one but didn't like it. I figured I would use it in the interum until I could figure out the one you showed me. Thanks.... I will go read the other thread....

Hmm, fooling around a little, with some of the available signatures at www.boinc.dk
With a little squeesing, this is 5 more or less colourful signatures put inside the 250-character-signature-limit... Having low id-number in most projects helps. ;)

And no, have no plans to start using 5 stats-signatures in all my posts. ;)

Now, why would one want to block someone elses posts? Wouldn't it be easier on Janus if one would just not read posts that one does not want to?

Hmm, oh, it doesn't mention seti for BOINC on the 1st of them. ;)
Was really only an experiment to see if possible to squeece 5 different stats-signatures into the 250-character-limit. ;)

Come to think of it, you do make a very good point, CR. There are a few people posting that I would probably prefer not to see posts from as well. Especially those posts that are in a different language than I speak and write.

The one drawback to this idea, not that I'm trying to shoot it down, is the fact that this is a world wide public community. There may be a "free speech" issue, at least for us in the US. It wouldn't bother me if someone blocked my posts, it would be their loss of my "words of wisdom".

I was just wondering why.... But, I am glad you decided to answer because of the good point you made.

Peace and Long Life.... CR Parsons.

Hopefully the filter attaches to an account number so if they change their username the filter will still work.

EDIT: Janus...please hurry. :)

The filters filter individual posts only and are not affected by account numbers or user names.

Hey Janus, could you put the links to the boards that are at the top of messages at the bottom?

Eh, that's badly phrased. What I mean is, on this message we have this at the top:

Message boards : Number crunching : comments @ new forum features?

Could the board spit that out at the bottom of the thread too? That way after I'm done reading I can just click the link and go.

Actually this was suggested a few weeks ago.
Top of my todo-list is to add my todo-list to the official BOINC todo-list. I haven't been good at doing this lately, so people haven't been able to see that I indeed did consider their suggestions (sorry).

[Edit:]
Now I have added the stuff to the taskbase. You can keep track of the progress the usual place (taskbase). The filter feature has index 1432...
