As promised. A bottle of Scotch from the village where our young family lives. (Actually in sight of Doune Castle, where most of one of the greatest films of all time was shot).

"I'm getting better"

"No you're not. You'll be stone-cold-dead in a moment."

May I add this to the stock, I'm rather partial to this with a splash of soda.
(oh, and a twist of lime, thank you.)

Come on in folks, we are reopening the bar after an extensive makeover and here is the sort of feast that will await you:

The picture comes from Menzel's wonderful recent adaptation of Hrabal's "I Served the King of England" and is the scene where they eat the famous stuffed camels. (the "hero" of the story is the little waiter on the left of the group at the end)

Message 890164 - Posted: 1 May 2009, 13:58:24 UTC

Just had a message from the Grants and Loans Department of the Royal British Legion:

"In case you have not heard any news on Mr Walker. I received an email from his social worker this week - who says is making good improvements. She will keep in touch with the Legion and access our services/assistance for Mr Walker when he feels ready."

Proof that things are going the right way. and all the more reason to celebrate:

Two days seminar, where most of the community

Mmmmm, that would really hit the spot after a long day. Since you are pouring, would you mind topping one off for me too?
