I have 2 jobs on my account that were submitted over 3 weeks ago that are still showing as either: completed, waiting for validation or completed, validation inconclusive. You wait. Each task is submitted to two different computers, and credit is not granted until the second computer reports. If you are waiting for the second computer, the status will be "completed, waiting for validation". If validation fails when the second task comes in, both tasks will be switched to the state "completed, validation inconclusive". When the third task comes in, validation is attempted between the three, and it is possible that all three get validated, or any two, or every body enters the state of inconclusive validation. The delayed grant of credits is an anti cheat measure as it was discovered in Classic that people would cheat on the science being done to rack up a higher credit score. This also picks up failing hardware. The most typical hardware failures are over heating, and over ambitious overclocking. You get to start worrying if you get several "valication failed" staqtes as the final result. ____________ BOINC WIKI

so by clicking on the activity menu and run always, is that how i get my credits? No, but you wrote it says processing suspended.and that should be changed by choosing "Run always". You get credits when you send back a successfully completed work unit and your result gets validated with the one from your "wingman". Each task is sent out in (at least) two copies to prevent errors being imported to the database by faulty computers (or cheaters). Gruß, Gundolf ____________ Computer sind nicht alles im Leben. Run always does not resume a suspended task. You have to select the task that is suspended and click resume.
