Hello,
my PC worked at an Astropulse for about 24 hours and now its paused, in german "Verdrängt".
Why? And will he go on? Because he did nothing on this WU since a week. And in 3 weeks the WU will expire.

Are you attached to other project? Is it processing that work?
If you are only attached to Seti, then what are the due dates of the other work on your system? If it is earlier than the AstroPulse WU then Boinc could just be making sure you don't miss their deadline.

This is common when you have a larger cache and a mixture of very short and very long due dates

Ich denke mal, daß BOINC neue WUs gedownloaded hatte als die lange AP-WU berechnet wurde?!
Die neuen WUs haben vielleicht ein früheres Ablaufdatum als die lange AP-WU?
Deshalb wird die AP-WU gestoppt und dann später weiter berechnet.
Und die neuen WUs werden zuerst berechnet, damit sie vor dem Ablaufdatum hochgeladen und berichtet werden können.

Könnte es das sein?


PS. Welcher PC is s denn?

BTW.
Schau doch mal in mein Profil wegen optimierten SETI@home Enhanced Anwendungen für Deine PCs. (Beschleunigung der Berechnung ca. 50 % !)

Only one task can run per project. Normal processing for single projects is First In First Out. However, if there is a possible deadline miss, BOINC will switch to Earliest Deadline First.

Between multiple projects, normal processing is Round Robin modified by Resource Shares. BOINC will switch to EDF in the project(s) that have deadline problems if needed.

AstroPulse deadlines are fairly long, and the amount of processing is fairly large as well. If you have a large queue, you might force BOINC to run other tasks first to complete before deadline.
