Cannot acquire stats through a custom application

I've made an application which retrieves the stats of my team.
Since some days, I get the message "bad user agent", whenever I'm trying to acquire the stats of my team.

Is there a rule in which only a browser can retrieve the stats? Because using the same url in a browser, the stats are just fine.

You need to use the stats from:

http://setiathome.berkeley/stats/ instead of screen scraping the HTML. HTML screen scraping causes a substantial load on the servers, and may cause the administrators to lock out the IP addresses of the screen scraper.

There are third party sites around that will provide you with the XML for just your team.
