I'm not trying to stir the pot here.....

What is happening on the Cafe and Politics board to have them shutdown without a real explanation. Not having enough man power doesn't really explain what's happening. Can the reason be elucidated?

I assume it had something to do with the number of banishments. If enough people are acting without regard to the forum rules, the threat has always been to take some of the forums away.
