I just want to mention this as its about the donation page and i think this might help to improve the clarity of what the user See's about his donations.
I had a recent discussion about donating to SETI@home with another user. He confirmed something that i had always felt but never mentioned it to anyone.
On the "your donations" page, you are offered one tick box so you have a choice whether your donations are "anonymous" or "not anonymous". Its very simple and easy to use.
But the way its formatted with the tick box column, the column is called "anonymous". Now this always gave me the impression that if i do not tick the box, other people will be able to see exactly the amount of money i have personally donated by viewing my profile. I now know that is not how it works, but it still leaves that impression with the user. So for privacy i feel some users might hide their donation for fear of other people being able to see how much they gave.
So my suggested fix here is that another column be placed beside the "anonymous" column with a tick box and the column name is "Display Green Star".
This way, the user will be making two decisions.
1. Do i want my user name on a possible list of donors
2. Is it OK to display a green star beside my user name. My donations will be anonymous in every other regard.
I think displaying the green star encourages others to donate and get a green star also. This would make that clearer.
