Some good reading here. I just have one little comment. My tax bill,2007 vs 2006, increased more than 100%. I think the reason was because I made more money, but I didn't make 100% more. It sure seems to me that taxes go up as your income goes up. I put more into my SEP than ever before and I can't pay into a Roth IRA any more. It just boils down to the more you make the more you can save but you still pay more tax. You want it, go earn it, you will not get the high paying jobs working 8 to 5 five days a week. By the way I think the flat tax done right is the best way, NO deductions for anyone you make x you pay on x. We could probably get by with something less than 20% across the board and not have any tax on the first 25 thousand.

Why ? Why would you support such a cruel thing?

It leaves the government free to rifle through your personal papers...interrogate your friends and loved ones...harass your job, supboena your records. Why?

Fair tax.

Talk about being silly, you are taking it off the wall. Just how many laws do you think are on the books today that are completely ignored by those in power.
You seem to think that the Fair Tax would be treated different than other laws in the country. Just how shallow can you be? Talking about heckling every post, I think it is very clear that you do that to everyone that does not agree with your views. I never heckled any of your posts, just stated the fact that I was for a flat tax, you are the one that is doing the heckling.

Almost every state in the union has a sales tax. This is decades old news. There's no problem collecting it.

Next stupid question please!

You continue to ramble like that 13 year old you were talking about. Where did state taxes come from, I thought this was about the fair tax?

I see you've done an excellent job at posting the next stupid question. Good job.

You continue to misquote me. Strange. It's funny. If you had a legitimate argument I can now safely assume you would have posted it by now.

Have you no idea what the actual Fair Tax even is? Why are you twisting my words about state taxes? I only mentioned sales taxes.

If people in the top 25 percent of earnings are paying more than 80% of all the income taxes

When 10 percent of the population holds 90 percent of the wealth, my question is: Why aren't they paying more? ;)

You, your entire family, and everyone you know will never pay the amount of tax dollars, combined during your entire lives, that someone like Bill Gates pays every year in taxes.

That's not to say I'm against tax reform...obviously I'd like to keep more than 70% of my earnings, but to imply the wealthy are not "paying more" is pure ignorance.

You don't have a concept of what individual rights are all about.

Neither do I... It's been such a long time since I've had them... ;)

(On the bright side, I've become well versed in understanding the collective who took them away.)

Asked before, I'll ask again...what rights have you lost?

And we'll never own a small neighborhood for a home either... ;)

We live in a mostly free market economy...what you do for a living and thus the amount of income you earn is entirely up to you.
