Bah. Bah I say!

We took you to overtime. Just like the Colts and Patriots last year. That's good enough. Or something.

(1)And Notre Dame fans, half time and ND is ahead 20 to 3 over Boston College. Good throwing by Brady Quinn in the half.
Oh No! Can not belive ND lost by ONE POINT to Boston College! When will Quinn learn to throw TO his receivers instead of over their heads?

(2)Philadelphia teams, sometimes will get to the finals, but will always find a way to blow it there. Ok, the Flyers won two Stanley Cups in the early '70s, but did not get the HatTrick!

(3)Soccer is a real game of endurance. No time outs. Player gets hurt, he has to endure. No time out. Liking the game more and more.

(4)And Basketball. Endurance.

(5)Has not been a good baseball team since Mr. Mack's Athletics left Philadelphia.

(6)Now that the baseball season is over, and there is no hockey season, and Shaqu has left LA...and Phil Jackson...and will Carl Malone be back...

There is, however, this World Championship Heavy Weight Bout on November 2nd coming up...but I digress...

Hi K3UZZ,

> (3)Soccer is a real game of endurance. No time outs. Player gets hurt, he has to endure. No time out. Liking the game more and more.

Are you refering to American Soccer or Euro Football?

Euro Football (Basics)
If a player is injured He can be substituted, Max in game 3 Subs allowed
Game is 90 minutes(45 mins eachhalf)+ stoppages. At Halftime teams go off for 15
minutes.
American Soccer ?

They key to soccer/football/fútbol is the fact that there isn't any downtime. This is true of basketball and hockey as well - Chase a ball/puck and put it in a net. Excluding red cards, flagrant fouls, and the in-game boxing matches, it's wall-to-wall movement - There's no stopping. Contrast this to rugby/football: Throw a ball, catch it, get knocked down, and the game stops while a bunch of fat guys get in a circle for half a minute. Contrast this to cricket/baseball: Throw a ball, whack it with a stick, chase the ball, and then wait while the next guy with the stick to warm up.

American Football is seen and heard by 50,000,000 viewers at most during the Super Bowl (I only watch the commercials, to be quite honest). Soccer is seen and heard by 1,000,000,000 at least during World Cup Finals. The next-highest viewership goes to the Olympic Games' opening ceremony, and that rakes in only 350,000,000 viewers!

Actually, you're right - they're essentially non-stop.

Man Utd 2-0 Arsenal
Arsenal 49 games without loss…. ended
Grown men have been seen crying in the streets
Its mid-afternoon UK time, and no one is discussing this in this the sports thread?
I prefer rugby[union] to football/soccer and neither of the 2 sides I support- but this is a big result full of controversy.. which could have Premiership title implications..
I would like the views of world wide SETI ppl, do you care about the result of 22men + and ball being kicked around on a patch of grass? Also were was the strangest place you saw/listened to the match I know bbc world service normally broadcast big football matches..
That’s my 2 pence/cents.. over 2 you lot..

Oh, man. I dare you to walk up to a linebacker and call him a "pussy ameriacn football player".

Soccer is boring. They just bounce the damn ball back and forth. Maybe if the field was smaller it'd be more exciting. Arena Soccer, heh.

I would like to see them play without their 45 pounds of body protection against
a big rugby player team...They would beg for the game to stop.

It is so exciting that it is probably why this sport never made it out of the US.

Now, if they were real Vikings, they'd have slayed the opposition, raped the wives of the players, pillaged the consessions stands, and then burnt the stadium to the ground...
