Random items: Turns out the file deleters were offline since yesterday afternoon (some mounting issues). No big deal - I restarted them this morning and the queues quickly drained. Looks like the Snap Appliance with the newly reconfigured workunit storage volume is working *tons* faster than before. That's a really good thing. There are still science database replica growing pains, but we're at a point where a science database failure (like we had months ago) won't keep us offline for weeks as we desperately scrounge for a replacement. Otherwise.. had a meeting going over our current plans for RFI removal in what will be our new candidate generation software suite. Things to look forward to.. Edit: Oh yeah - I should mention we are aware that a small set of our workunits were clobbered on our servers at some point and are indeed zero length. We'll address that if we have the time or let them pass through the pipeline as painful as that may be and try to reprocess them later. - Matt -- BOINC/SETI@home network/web/science/development person -- "Any idiot can have a good idea. Matt, what ever you did was magic. I just had a result finish and within one minute it was reported and validated. Keep up the great work and I will have a green star soon. Pluto will always be a planet to me. Seti Ambassador Not to late to order an Anni Shirt |
