First, this link isn't about the CIA - Drug Connection. It *IS* about the Politics of Mass Media, and the 'Big Media' reaction to the 'little upstart paper's coup in getting the story'.

The 'drug story'? I don't recall Webb's story, so I can't comment on *his* allegations... BUT, the CIA *did* run drugs into this country through the airport at Mena, Arkansas (with the assistance of then-Governor Clinton). Source: Personal Knowledge.

This isn't the first time, nor was it the last, that the CIA engaged in various 'illegal activity' to finance certain operations, especially after Congress started trimming their budget.
