Would it be discrimination not to include women? Should be interesting...They fought so hard to be equal, now maybe they will really fight. If they don't and my son is drafted I will help him with a lawsuit. Official Abuser of Boinc Buttons... And no good credit hound! |

But be sure to exclude all the homosexuals, after all, only hetrosexuals are good enough to die and get maimed for their country. And besides, you wouldn't want lesbians distracting the male soldiers with fantasies. Unit cohesion and all that... Account frozen... |

Should be interesting...They fought so hard to be equal, now maybe they will really fight. If they don't and my son is drafted I will help him with a lawsuit. He'll lose. That's been beaten to death. It's been a LONG time, so maybe it's out, but get Patsy Schroeder to let the Pentagon release the number of how many women got pregnant during Gulf War I so that they could get a free ride home from a combat zone. She never wanted to let the numbers out back then because it reflected really poorly on the fitness of women for combat. Hell, they don't even buzz cut them in basic training because it's too traumatic for the poor dears. Let a guy try to make that argument... But be sure to exclude all the homosexuals, after all, only hetrosexuals are good enough to die and get maimed for their country. No, they don't want the barracks to be a free love zone or a sexual free-for-all, because THAT will effect unit cohesion. It's difficult to tell a straight solder that he may spend a few days in the brig for cohabitation with a female, when the two male soldiers next door come out of the room each morning looking like a pair of glazed donuts. But be sure to exclude all the homosexuals, after all, only hetrosexuals are good enough to die and get maimed for their country. No where is there any evidence in any of the industrial worlds armed forces which do not discriminate against any person on account of their sexual orientation look like glazed donuts. All have a policy about no sexual conduct on duty or on base. But what a person does off base on their own time with their personal business should be of no concern to anyone, and as far a propositing, well just like the female members, and the males as well, all you have to do is say "no thanks." I don't know where your sterotypes come from, but they show a high level of ignorance and sublimital bigotry. But I agree with you on one point, persons who are discriminated against because of who they are shouldn't have to serve in the armed forces...as I said earlier, let the hetrosexuals die for their country since they are first class citizens. No where is there any evidence in any of the industrial worlds armed forces which do not discriminate against any person on account of their sexual orientation look like glazed donuts. All have a policy about no sexual conduct on duty or on base. Their armies, their choice. Some/most of them are utterly incompetent--not that there's a connection, just that there are many reasons for that incompetence. Some of that may be lax barracks discipline. But what a person does off base on their own time with their personal business should be of no concern to anyone, and as far a propositing, well just like the female members, and the males as well, all you have to do is say "no thanks." Sure. Except that that is extremely difficult to enforce against same-sex roomies, so they choose a different solution. You may disagree with it, but so what? They don't care what you think, and you don't care what they think. I don't know where your sterotypes come from, but they show a high level of ignorance and sublimital bigotry. Why? Because you said so? A) I didn't make any stereotypes. B) It's not my policy, I would abolish it entirely. I simply explained why they do it, and added some humor. Some of that may be lax barracks discipline. What an asinine statement since you included some of the following armies...Britian, Israel, Germany, France, Holland, Beligum, Switzerland, Austria, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa...just to name a few. OMG, most of the Atlantic Treay Organization is utterly incompetent...we had better inform our Generals, but don't let ol' Rumsfeld in on it...he'd have a heart attack. What we do have in common on this subject are totalitarian states like Russia, China, Zimbabwe, and Iran. Account frozen... |

But be sure to exclude all the homosexuals, after all, only hetrosexuals are good enough to die and get maimed for their country. ...which is not to say that I don't stand by my original contention. If you check out the stats from the Kinsey Institute of Northwestern University, Chicago, our government is effectively precluding 18% (gay and bi)of the male population alone. With the manpower shortage being as it is, that just doesn't make any practical sense, and when you figure in that 52.3% of the American male population has crossed the line at one time or another, it is shear hypocrisy and something that the conservatives chose to ignore. Their armies, their choice. Some/most of them are utterly incompetent--not that there's a connection, just that there are many reasons for that incompetence. Some of that may be lax barracks discipline. It's not asinine because I said specifically "some/most,"--meaning that some of them are utterly incompetent, and it could be most of them because most of the militaries on this planet are underfunded and under-trained. I did not say ALL, I said "some/most." There is a important difference. OMG, most of the Atlantic Treay Organization is utterly incompetent...we had better inform our Generals, but don't let ol' Rumsfeld in on it...he'd have a heart attack. Your editorializing about Rummy aside (since he has long since resigned), and assuming that you mean the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, yeah, "most" of them probably are utterly incompetent: Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Bulgaria, Estonia, Latvia, Romania, and Slovakia among others probably are nearly worthless. Well, other than cannon fodder. The point still stands. Cordially, Rush elrushbo2@theobviousgmail.com Remove the obvious... |

...which is not to say that I don't stand by my original contention. If you check out the stats from the Kinsey Institute of Northwestern University, Chicago, our government is effectively precluding 18% (gay and bi)of the male population alone. A) Just the briefest of searches suggest that those numbers are WAY overstated and suggest bias on your part--they likely aren't even half that. B) They aren't precluding the homosexuals, they're telling them they cannot be open about it. As you know, there are PLENTY of homos in the military that serve their terms just fine, I happen to know and knew a few, who were perfectly happy not being out, per se. They couldn't have cared less; to hear them tell it, their service was about serving the country, not making a statement for Out Magazine. With the manpower shortage being as it is, that just doesn't make any practical sense, and when you figure in that 52.3% of the American male population has crossed the line at one time or another, it is shear hypocrisy and something that the conservatives chose to ignore. Eh, it's just something you disagree with, nothing more. And more accurately, it's something the liberals choose to ignore as well. The Democrat-led Congress had at least 40 years and several liberal presidents and didn't change it either. In fact, Clinton sold them down the river with "don't ask, don't tell." Damn liberals skrewed you again. Hey, let's let them run our health care!! Cordially, Rush elrushbo2@theobviousgmail.com Remove the obvious... |
