It's a government holiday in California; the University is closed. March is going out like a lamb in the Bay Area. Enjoy your weekend, everyone. Note that April 21 is Cal Day at UC Berkeley. It might be a good day to come and visit the SETI@home offices at the Space Sciences Lab, if you live nearby. Hey, this is the first thread in this forum that Matt didn't start! |

I've been spending all day getting ready for a gig tonight and another tomorrow. Both formal/paying gigs so there's no slackin' off. - Matt -- BOINC/SETI@home network/web/science/development person -- "Any idiot can have a good idea. What is hard is to do it." - Jeanne-Claude |

César Chávez was (is) a labor organizer for migrant farm laborers in the US. I believe that he was most active in the 60's and 70's. This is from memory, and I may have the wrong person, and be mistaken on the dates. BOINC WIKI |

César Chávez was (he is now deceased) the leader of the United Farm Workers, (UFW) an labor union, primarily in the state of California, and was active until his death in the mid 90's. He was also active in the Latino rights movement. He has a street named after him in San Francisco. (the former Army Street) . Hello, from Albany, CA!... |

Nothing about the holiday, but can any of you tell me when you are going to rellease a new version of the Seti at Home client? I worked with one of you several months ago on a problem I had with my screen saver not working since the last update. We determined that the promlem was a conflict between the new software and the Wacom tablet driver. Your man worked out a fix and told me it would be in the next update. I am still wating for that to happen. I know you don't have a lot of Macs working for you and even less with the Wacom software installed on them. Never the less, I really would like to have my seti screen saver working again. Thank, Bob |

Well, we're hoping that Alfa data will soon be available for the run-of-the-mill cruncher (not Betatester per the current status) to do his her thing. I believe that crunching Alfa data will obsolete every existing cruncher but I might be wrong. Quizás César Chávez esté viendo estos mensajes del cielo. |

IIANM at the moment the Beta apps for Multibeam are essentially the same as the ones used here, with only minor tweaks since Enhanced was rolled out last summer; it seems most of the testing under way is for the ‘back end’: splitters and so on. The Beta app on this Mac, for example, is called “setiathome-5.17.powerpc-apple-darwinâ€Â, and dates from last August (which is when I first attached the host). |
