Hi all, Not yet. They are working on an advanced local options that will have daily preference setting, but it's still not ready even for alpha testing. Probably wont be available until version 5.10.x. Keep checking for new releases and happy crunching. ____________ Questions? Answers are in the "Unofficial" BOINC Wiki. Ok, so how do I keep it from reading the preferences from the seti website during the weekend? I didn't find a "switch" for it, neither in the preferences file nor on the website account preferences.

Ok, so how do I keep it from reading the preferences from the seti website during the weekend? I didn't find a "switch" for it, neither in the preferences file nor on the website account preferences. This is not possible in the current versions of the software. You can manually do it, but that would be a ROYAL PAIN! ____________

Which preference do you want different on the Weekend?

Which preference do you want different on the Weekend? The time from and up to it may run. On the weekend, it may run 24 h/day, but from Monday 7:00 am it has to change to run only over night, i. e. from 6 pm to 7 am. Friday 6 pm to Monday 7 am would be weekend. This could be easily edited in the preferences file, then I could set a cron job to swap the files. But it would not have to re-read the preferences from the website. Rolf ____________

Hi all, There is a slightly more elegant solution. BOINCCmd has some command line switches in particular: boinccmd --set_run_mode {always | auto | never} To start processing: boinccmd --set_run_mode always To stop processing: boinccmd --set_run_mode never there are more switches and parameters available by typing boinccmd --help ____________ BOINC WIKI

Yeah - thanks a lot! :-) Good hint. Manually it runs well, I can switch on and off as expected. However, via crontab it produces an "Authorization failure: -155" when started from the official system's crontab (under my personal rights). When started from a user's (mine) crontab, nothing happens too, but with no error message at all. Any idea? Rolf ____________
