Hello. I am having trouble joining a team. I know the founder and so on, so I am not being disallow joining by him. Instead of the "join team"-option I get the "initiate transfer" option. Any ideas?

Join Seti.Germany instead :o)

No, seriously, if you posted a link to the team's page we could have a look at it.

Regards Hans

EDIT:
Scratch that. Your profile shows you're already member of team "Kaeberasler".
If you want to join a different team, it's considered a transfer I guess.

P.S:
What on earth is a Kaeberasler? I only got one result for it on Google :o)

i have been seeing the initate transfer button intermittently for our team too i would suggest it is just a current glitch in the system rather than a fault localised to you or your team

ps ive been itching to click it to see what happens :)))))

Hello!

The team in which Michael Jensen is, is named "Kæberasler", he is from Denmark...

Is here somebody who can translate this name? Only for info!

Greetings!

Hi all

First of all it wasn't me who was having problems joining, but at fellow SETI guy :-)

Second...Hehe well... Kæberasler is a bit hard to translate... but here goes...

It's danish of course.

"Kæbe" means jaw.

"rasler" means... well rattler... so "Kæbe" + "rasler" = Kæberasler...

Kæberasler means a smack in the face. Well a smack on the jaw, so the teeth are rattling loose... Something like that.

But it's a pretty old school word.

We also considered "Mavepumper"...

"Mave" means stomach.

"Pumper" means... pumper :-) So it's basically means a smack in the stomach (which pumps out all your air, so you can't breathe)

Here ends today's danish lesson. Hope you got your curiosity satified.

BTW Kæberasler has changed to Kaeberasler to give us a more international image :-) (æ is a danish letter only)

hello,
I've been having the same issue here.
Created a new team for me and some friends but they can't join because there's no Join link (and yesterday there was an initiate transfer link there).
I've browsed (logged off from my account) some other teams and found the join link, but not in mine.

I thought this could take a day or so -while my credit info was transferred to the team's info- but after a day, credits have been updated and the problem persists.

Any ideas? You think this is a temporary glitch?

Thanks for your help! :)

Regards,

Diego

Hi Michael B,
What were you about to email? We're having the same problems with the "Careers in Science" team that my friend Richard created this morning. There is no Join link on the team page.

Thanks,
Kevin

Okay, it seems to be starting to work . . . must be connected to server-to-server "slow" updates.
