I say DUDE all the time!

Like, that's cool dude, not a problem.

Well, like, what can I say dude? You know, like that's cool.

If this goes on for long people will start thinking this thread is about Bill an Ted's Excellent Adventure instead.

To the topic: K-PAX was solid all the way thru. Durring most of the film I couldn't come to a conclusion wether Spacey was a real alien or just crazy, but in the end I concluded that he was really an alien.

"K-PAX, one of the greatest movies ever!"

Dude, it was okay, but not really one of the greatest movies ever. lol

I'd give it an 8.

Like, dude, just starting a conversation. Like, if you totally want to start a "The Water Boy, one of the greatest movies ever! Discuss!" ... like, you should soooo go for it and stuff. :) Dude.

Oh for god sakes. I wasn't criticizing your thread. I just said that I didn't think that K-PAX was one of the greatest movies ever. I did indicate that I liked it and gave it an 8, which is pretty high if you go by IMDB ratings.

I don't see why you need to make fun of how I talk Sarge. I haven't made fun of the way you talk.

Attempt at humor #2982309 failed. Must ... analyze ... humor ... sub-routine ... .

It's okay, no harm done Sarge>it's cool.

"CLICK"

FatB....why do you insist on turning the lights off??? lol

LOL you were asking for the off button to be added ... so... ;-))

Ooops EDIT (because I can) - Yes great film too, but not the best ever!

In all honesty, I added this thread to expand on Siran's thread; i.e., philosophies and life lessons that can be gleaned from science fiction. Now if only Tiare would come in here and tell us her thoughts on K-PAX and then add something about Sagan's "Contact." :)

LOL...well, for now just add the * humor on * sub routine. The Off button can be added later if necessary. :-)

*Humor off*

No, I am in Mt. Pleasant, Knightmare. What's the conspiracy behind the naming of this place?!?

*Humor on*

I think they were trying to make it more attractive sounding for the Casino....lol

I think putting a casino in Hell, Mi wouldn't work all that well...lmao

I think the name existed LONG before the casino.
I never go to the casino.
Which states have a town/city named Hell?
You were supposed to ask what the heck I am doing in Mt. P. (Not that I'd necessarily answer, ha ha!)

Check out the book, as well as it's sequel, "On a Beam of Light."
By the end of the second book, what will your answer be? Alien or crazy?

OK, folks, you will have to mostly discuss K-PAX on your own for the next several hours, as I have to finish up some stuff concerning my dissertation. (Darn, now Knightmare will know what I am doing in mid-Michigan!)

I never ask what someone is doing in one of the cities here. If I did, I would have to answer what I am doing in an armpit like Sebewaing...lol

I keep trying to tell peopl that this place is the Second Circle of Hell...but they don't believe me....:-)

No one. The point, I believe, is that no life form (dolphins, for example) is more important that another (in the example, tuna).

The Wisdom (or Craziness) of prot (from his Sept. 20, 1995 television appearance): #4 Religions are difficult for K-PAXians to understand. Either all of them are right or none of them is.

#5 Human society will always have a drug problem unless life without drugs becomes a more attractive prospect for those concerned.

#6 Hunting is no sport. It is cold-blooded murder. If you can outwrestle a bear or chase down a rabbit, then you can consider yourself a true sportsman.

#7 Killing someone because he has killed someone is an oxymoron.

#8 The root of all evil isn't the lust for money, but money itself. Try to think of a problem that doesn't involve money in some way.

#9 Schools are not for teaching anything. They exist solely to pass on society's beliefs abd values to its children.

#10 The purpose of government is to make your WORLD safe for commerce.

If these well-meaning people were more concerned with the individual beings involved, there would be no need to worry about loss of species.

Some might find some of the statements extremely to the left, politically (some of them I am not sure I am comfortable with myself), but ... there are indeed ones in here that are worth thinking about. Could any of us say we'd already thought about each and every one of these, along one line or another?

So prot is a vegetarian, I think I can conclude.

I ain't going to K-PAX, with or without my kitty, I like to eat meat from other species, cows, pigs, chickens, turkeys, others ...
