Gentlepersons,
I have run seti@home for years. I made the transition to BOINC without too much trouble. However, the last five days to a week has been troublesome. There seems to be trouble somewhere, and I admit freely it could be here. Why am I getting all these strange messages. Why is BOINC idle? This used to be a fun and straight forward distributed computing application. Any support or information would be most appreciated. I feel like I've been transported back in time, when SETI and the Drake Equation have not yet been considered.

Most Respectfully,

Hi Tom!

We all need to have some patience these days. You can read further about this problem on the technical page, in Questions & Answers, and on the Number Crunching board.

Happy crunching. :-)

SETI is having problems right now, probably because of the influx of users from Classic. There are many other projects to crunch for and I personally have suspended SETI because my backlog was growing. Rosetta@home is one I am paticularly fond of, there are many others. Check them out and make up your own mind.
Keep happy,

Tom, Check my message in this thread. I'm assuming that you are "attached" to S@H correctly (because I see you have credit). We've had outages longer than this in the past. Attaching to another project is an option for some. If not, jsut be patient. If you don't mind copying and pasting "some" (not all) of your error messages from the "Messages" tab in BOINC here, it would help us make sure you're having the same problem too.

No matter where you go, there you are...
